| Abstract |
It is necessary to study and develop guidelines for providing comfort and healthy indoor condition for office workers since air-tight envelope system of current office building may cause poor indoor air quality.The purpose of this study is to propose guidelines for indoor air quality and ventilation rate in office buildings based on the results from literature survey, field survey and computer simulation. This study collected and analyzed current available data in order to understand worldwide trends in standards and guidelines related to indoor air quality and ventilation rate. By calculating natural ventilation rate through the window openings to satisfy CO2 level below 1,000ppm, this study suggested minimum ventilation rate and the total area of operable window for office building with natural ventilation system. |
