Title |
A Study on Fosterage of Professional Construction Engineers and Technicians |
Abstract |
Recently due to the rapidly changing industrial environment, the Korean construction industry has faced shortage of professional construction engineers and technicians. The demand of such work force is expected to increase continuously while the supply, most of which are college graduates has been fixed for years. Therefore, this study is to suggest counterplans in fostering professional construction engineers and technicians. Three main approaches can be considered for the plans. First, increasing the number of the college graduates in construction related fields, secondly keeping those future engineers and technicians not to slip out to other industries. Thirdly, absorbing new graduates from othermajor fields to the construction industry. In addition to quantitative increment of the work force, their qualitative improvement should be considered simultaneously. This study especially focuses on the second and the third approach, in which mainly political and educational aspects will be discussed. |
