| Abstract |
Well-known general contractors, design offices, and public authorities in the Korean contruction industry have been inquired into the state and quality of their information management. Specific questions were asked, which include the information handling, provision of information systems, and readiness to implement information systems.The results of the survey have proved to be rather a disappointment. Most of the samples surveyed have not actively been confronted with the information era, more particularly with the information related activities, systems, services, etc.This study accordingly analyzed the causes which prevent the whole industry from making more and better use of information and information tools. Finally, the principles and guidelines were suggested to achieve the systematic information handling required to face the information problems in the Korean construction industry. |
