| Abstract |
This study is intended to review the standardization process of the hospital planning in U.K. The research focused on the theoretical background, process, factors and contents of hospital standardisation, and the operational problems throughthe survey of sample hospitals.The contects of research include the history of standardisation, Best Buy hospital, Harness system, Nucleus system, and Oxford method.The conclusions could be summaried as follows; 1)The standardisation systems have been developed in consideration of economical aspects. 2)The form of standard hospitals is compact and low-rise design, and the major movements are horizontal. 3)The "ㅁ" shape of early hospital street has been changed to "-" shape for the change and growth of hospital. 4)The standardised system has been updated by the continuous research and developments. 5)In case of Korean situation, the minimum standardisation such as hospital design guides by public sector will be required. |
