A Study on the Expression of Eroticism in Architectural Design |
| Abstract |
Architectural design as an unconscious psychological act is affected by various desires of eroticism in many ways. Especially most of intellectual architectural design is the product of unconscious sadistic desire. And as an effect on the architectural design, psychological mechanism of perverse desire is more important than the direct representation by simple sensuous desire. This study aims at the analysis of the aspects and expression methods of eroticism in the architectural design. The results are as follows: Sensuous desire has its architectural expression in the direct representation and abstract analogy. The architectural expressions of sadistic desire are irrational Classicism, irrational functionalism, irrational anti-functionalism, and narrative plot. And those of masochistic desire are absurd machine and kitsch architecture. |
