Title A Study on the Building Timing Gap of the Ddeuljip in the Andong Cultural Area

Abstract It is the aim of this study to know the building process of the 'Ddeuljip', which is -typed, roof-tiled house and typical residential type of middle and upper class in Andong Cultural Area of Chosun Dynasty. The 'Ddeuljip' is large houses, but they was generally typical spacing. 'An-che' which is the main part of a house was built at first, after that 'Sarang-che' which is another part of a house was built. It is found the building timing gap in the joining part of spaces those days. Its patterns are 一-type, ㄱ-type, half-ㄷ-type, full-ㄷ-type according to advanced building parts. In this paper, we should pay attention to the plan and structural joining parts between former and later part. This course show the gradual building process of the 'Ddeuljip'. It means that from the early days of Chosun Dynasty, the ideal housing type was the 'Ddeuljip' in Andong Cultural Area, and the ideal type was made before building would was started, and parts of housing were built based on the social, economical, familial situation.
