Title A Study on Cognition & Evaluation about Space Component of : Focusing on the Users of MokPo University Campus

Abstract In order to analyze the degree of cognition of name, use and location on the map, the degree of utilization and the degree of evaluation on university campuses, results of research at the Dorim campus of Mokpo university using the SD method are as follows; 1.Cognition among the university campus components is very high, but evaluation shows a considerable gab between components. It shows that cognition is affect by campus layout; which include facilities placement and load systems, whereas the evaluation is influenced by the arrangement of each component and its external appearance. 2.Even though the degree of accuracy of name and use cognition is affected by utilization measures(each one P=.001), the degree of accuracy for name cognition and cognition of place on the map by utilization measures seem not to shows significant differences(P<.05). 3.The results of factor analysis based on original data of the SD evaluation of campus components leads to eight evaluation factors; pluralism, shape, friendship, systems, restrictions, aesthetics, concentration and continuation. Referring to the factor score in each facility type, the main facilities obtain a high scores for restrictions and concentration; support facilities obtain high scores for shape and pluralism; education research facilities obtain high scores continuation and shape; and housing facilities obtain high scores for systems and pluralism. The results seem th show a different evaluation structure depending on facility type. So that mutual complementary design structures can be formed organically between facilities, the established of each design program must be different and must be depend on the facility type.
