Design Methods of the Public Open Space in Building Site to Improve the Pedestrian Environment |
Abstract |
As a design tool to improve the pedestrian environment for urban design planning, the "Public Open Space" in building site has been utilized for the design purpose of pedestrian space, relaxing space, and landscaping space. However, there was little research done to show how to design these parameters into supporting effective "Public Open Space Concept". This was mainly due to the lack of detailed design methods in the domestic urban design level. The purpose of this study is to suggest the design methods of supporting the "Public Open Space Concept". : 1) Investigation of the current "Public Open Space Concept" to Teheran street and Mapo street. 2) Comparison study with other foreign cases. |
