Title |
The Thermal Effect of Radiant Barrier System in Lightweight Building Envelopes during a Typical Summer Day |
Abstract |
For the energy saving and the thermal comfort of indoor environment, some strategies for thermal insulation have been developed. In the common building energy analysis, design issue on walls and ceilings primarily restricts on conduction, but heat gain and loss by radiation have been ignored mostly. Heat gain and loss can be reduced by controlling radiation transfer in walls and ceilings through the use of radiant barriers. In this study, in order to identify the heat transfer characteristics of radiant barrier system in cooling period, the thermal performances of the resistive insulator system and the radiant barrier system were measured and evaluated through four different cases of experimental models. |
