Title |
A Study on the Estimation of Amplification Factor for Vertical Vibration of Building |
Abstract |
In terms of vibration damage in structure itself and serviceability for inhabitants in buildings, the purpose of vibration study lies in reduction of vibration damage. However, only when prediction of vertical vibration level of the buildings is possible, measures of vibration control and base isolation can be taken. In this study, vertical vibration level of each floor of reinforced concrete structure is experimentally measured and then amplification factor is calculated, which is ratio of measured vibration level of each floor to input vibration level at the ground. This is a preliminary study which lays the foundation for predicting vibration level of buildings later on. |
