An Experimental Study on The Composite Effect of Connections of Half-precast Beam and Slab |
Abstract |
In a composite beam the longitudinal slip may occur by the influence of flexural forces. If the strength of stirrup is less than that of longitudinal reinforcement or slab concrete, the strength of the composite beam is controlled by stirrups of the interface of half-precast beam and cast in place slab. Unlike the composite beam of steel-concrete, the ultimate strength of a composite beam is affected by the two major factors such as the degree of interface roughness and occurrence of cracks in the web. By comparing the ultimate shear forces in a monolithic T beam and shear forces of 10 different T composite beam obtained by the beam tests and results from push-out tests, the continuous increase of stirrup does not influence on the degrees of composite at a certain limit any more and optimum stirrup ratio depends on the degree of roughness. |
