| Abstract |
The purpose of this syudy is to investigate and evalute the realizin g principles of periodica1 correspondence applied to Modern housing. In order to pursue this purpose, the concept of periodica1 correspondences was clarified in terms of periodical situations, needs and problems of Modern era. The realizing principles of periodical correspondence can be summarized as normalization of residential standards, application of technological possibilities and searching for new way of life. They played an affirmative role in seeking for the solution of housing shortage, establisment of systematic methodology of design, building and management in Modern Housing. In spite of this affirmative role, the realizing principles of periodical correspondence applied to Modern housing also yielded negative results such as unification of residential environment, formal expression and exclusion of crucial needs of residents which had been caused by overwhelming propagation of prototype and one-sided interpretation of architects. |
