Numerical Prediction by LES and k : ε Model and Model Experiment on Indoor Airflow Pattern |
Abstract |
Although it is well known that the indoor environment is strongly affected by airfIow, especially when the space is conditioned, the mechanisms driving indoor airflow are not well understood. Advanced computer simulation techniques to predict room air movement have been available for several years and have been used for evaluating both thermal and indoor air quality. In this paper, for the purpose of examining the influence of turbulent structure on indoor contaminant distribution, indoor airf1ow pattern is analyzed by Large Eddy Simulation. Comparisons are made with the result using by k-ε model and the experimental results from the scale_down model. These demonstrate that the Large Eddy Simulation is highly accurate turbulence model for predicting complicated indoor airflow pattern. |
