An Experimental Study on the Behavior of Multi-Thickness & End-Plate Connection of Concrete-filled S.H.S. Column to H-Beam with H/T Bolts |
Abstract |
The purpose of this paper is to present the multiple-thickness & end-plate type connection of concrete-filled S.H.S. column to H-beam with H/T bolts and to investigate the flexural strength and deformational characteristics under static monotonic loading. The main variables are inserted type of HT bolts(tapping bolted type; A, inner bolted type; B) and multiple-thickness plate length(L= 5l0, 6l0, 7l0mm). And the increasing effect of yieldng strength and stiffness by each variable was presented through test results. The application of Bjorhovde et al and Eurocode3 classification method by non-dimensioned moment-rotation curves to the connections showed that they are included in semi-rigid region as far as initia1 rotational stiffness is concerned and rigid region, as far as ultimate strength. |
