Abstract |
The interaction between steel tube and concrete in a concrete-filled steel tube(CFST) column makes it suitable to high-rise structures. The main concern in this system is how to transfer forces from beam to column at the connection. Various types of connections have been developed to enhance the ultimate load capacity and constructability In this study, we carried out numerical analysis .for the beam-to-column connection reinforced with rectangular plates at the outside of the tube column. Nonlinear inelastic behavior of the connections is investigated using ANSYS and the results are compared with experimental values to evaluate the modeling technique. Based on the parametric study, we proposed a formula to predic the ultimate load capacity of the cnnnection |
