Abstract Concrete filled steel tubular columns have many excellent structural properties, such as high compressive strength, large ductility and large energy absorption capacity. Then, concrete filled steel tubular columns are gradually and widely used in the world. The objective of this study is to investigate the structural behavior of concrete filled steel tubular columns. The existence of filled-concrete specimen, length-section depth ratio(Lo/D=5, 10, I5, 20, 25) and eccentric ratio(e/k=O, I, 2, S)are taken as the main parameters Experimental maximum strength and behavior of concrete filled columns are compared with the results of ho11ow section columns. Moreover, AHI(Architectural Institute of Korea)-LSD method for composite columns subjected to axial force and bending moment is discussed
