Title Analysis of Stresses of Cantilevered Cylindrical Shell Structures under Lateral Load

Abstract If cantilevered cylindrical shell structure is subjected to lateral load, it is affected by the combination of axial force shear force and bending moment, which the state of these stresses is determined by shapes of shells In this paper the exact solution of the cantilevered cylindrical shells under top lateral load is derived by fundamental equation of cylindrical shells to explain the linear behaviors, and a computer program for the solution is developed. To apply lateral load to the top of cantilevered cylindrical shell, in this paper, prescribed displacement can be used. The result of analytical solution of this paper shows a good agreement with that of finite element method(SAP90). And, the stresses of cantilevered cylindrical shell structures under top lateral load can be obtained by the program developed in this paper.
