| Abstract |
The porpose of this study is the evaluations of sustainablilty for the development of the sustainable human settlements. It focuses on the planning direction through the evaluation of the environmental status of present multi-family housing estates in Korea. The results of this evaluations are summerized belows: 1) The wustainablilty of residential environment has caused the problems such as high-raised and high density deveolpments on limited sites 2) The physical environments of multi-family housing estates correlates with sustainability consiousness of resifdnets. 3) The most important sustainablilty factor was low density of housing development so that it can improve the gerrn, networks and ecological system. 4) The expansion of green envuromnet is also important sustainablilty factor willing to pay for better multi-family housing estates. 5) The sustainablilty of residential environment should be applied as planning direction for the development of sustainable multi-family housing estates. Furthermore, the planning direction of sustainablilty should be tested in actual planning field as the planning indicators and critera by following research. |
