Title |
A Survey on the Current Usage Pattern of Internet Search for Architecture-Related Information |
Abstract |
This paper looks at the internet use patterns of the atchitecture-related internet users, especially in search for relative atchitectural information in design practice. An on-line questionnaire was posted in a web site, and the followings. Of the three distinctive user groups, the university professors were the most advanced users followed by the practitioners. The students were lagging behind in terms of their hardware resources and internet experiences. The commercial atchitectural information service did seem to be feasible at least for now. The search engine would be better utiliazed if it adopts both menu-driven search process and keyword search method. Frequent updates in atchitectural information and the shorter cycle for the registration and verification of the web sites should be implemented in order to alleviate the dissatisfaction among the users who complain the lack of up-to-date information and the non-existence of the registered web sites. Of the various atchitectural information medium, text was the most preferred due to the slow up and downloading time on the internet. But as the technilogy develops. This hardware problem will be remedied and it was suggested more graphic and virtual reality architectural information should be provided. |
