The methods of Practical Use of Japanese Traditional Urban Housing : The case study of KYO-SINSE |
| Abstract |
There are many groups to participate and make efforts to preserve and maintain traditional urban housing and the landscape in urban context requires manifold. In this study, the possibility of practical utilization of traditional urban housing is reviewed and the role-sharing efforts to preserve and maintain its landscape are analyzed. The KYO-SINISE site in Kyoto city has been selected as the case region to understand the way how to do business by using a image and an atmosphere of traditional urban housing. Consequently, possibility of business oriented utilization and it's patterns have been found out. In particular, several key issues for modern utilization of traditional urban housing from multiplicity of utilized pattenr have been suggested in detail |
