The Regulation Guidelines for Block Planning and Building Design of the Neighborhood-conveience Facilities in Urban Residential Areas |
| Abstract |
The intent of this study is to propose regulation guidelines for block planning and building design of the neighborhood-convenience facilities on urban residential areas, based on the concept that the facilities are to be strategically laid out in a convenient lication and designed in a proper manner for a health neighborhood environment. For this purpose, 497 neighborhood-convenience building in five resoidential areas on Seoul were chosen and investigated in terms of their distribution in a residential area and architectural chatacteristics. By the analysis of the existing buildings, the regulation guidelines for block planning and building design are proposed and two model buildings in the existing blocks, by a block unit development, are schematically designed in order to show an alternative for the neighborhood-convenience buildings in a urban residential area. |
