Abstract |
The knowledge on copyright is of critical importance for architecture global society. The interests of Korean architects in both the domestic and foreign copyrights, however, are extremely low. The indifference to copyright may well result in serious liability in the practice. In this study, the Architectural Works Copyright Protection Act of USA, seemingly one of the most advanced countries in the protection of copyright, is analized in terms of the history of its birth. In addition, the Act is scrutinzed to prove its relevance to architectural design practice. The resulting analyses suggest that the specific criteria of judging a building as an architectural work need to be devised: and reveal that the Act neglects moral rights for architects |
