| Abstract |
This study defines the image of the appearance for Korean and Japanese traditional architectures. In this Paper, representative rating scales are sampled by Korean and Japanese subjects' cognitive structure. The subjects had similar pattern of cognitive structure to Chinese rating scale: gorgeousness - modesty, strictness - looseness , hardness - softness , order- disorder, between Korean an Japaness. Consequently, those four can be used for representative rating scales. And the image for all architectures in this study were mainly in modesty-order, strictness-hardness, an looseness-softness. Also, Japanese traditional architectures are represented as to be stricter-hards than Korean, and Korean as to be looser-softer than Japanese. |
