A Study on the Transitional Patterns of Streets in the Old City Walls of Taegu City |
| Abstract |
This study aims to identify the streets patterns and its transitional characteristics of Taegu city which has old townscape. The major findings are summarized as follows aims to the streets patterns and its characteristics of 1. The streets pattern formed in and out of 016 City wall before 1920 become a major streets in Taegu city these days. 2. Centre of Taegu city was moved into northwest part of Taegu city after 1900, while the centre was formed in West Gate and South Gate of Old Castle Wall in early era of Chosen Dynasty. 3. Current streets Patterns which are more like radial pattern rather than primary radial(Old City Walls) of early era were formed after 1965. 4.. Taegu Station and kyung-Bu Railroad Passing through Taegu city strongly influenced on urban patterns especially streets pattern. |
