Title |
A Study on the Buckling Strength of Cold-Formed Circular Steel Tubular Columns |
Abstract |
The objective of this study is to study the local buckling strength and maximum strength of the columns with the initial crookedness from the mid-height of its. The experimental parameters of this study are as fo11ows ; l) the slenderness ratios( λ ) are S0, 40, 60, 80, 90, 2) the initial crookedness from the mid-height of the columns( λ) are 0, Lk500, Lk250, Lk125. The ultimate strengthes of the initially crooked columns are evaluated according to their eccentricities by using the E. M. Lue-W F.Chen's analytical equation. When we compare the experimental maximum strengthes to theoretical ultimate values of columns, the experimental values show 0.9l5 ~ 1.062 times as larger as values when when δi=Lk/l25 respectively The experlmental maximum strengthes are comparable to the analytical ultimate values, thus the validity of proposed equation is well defined consequently |
