Abstract This paper presents a base model which can be utilized to the establishment of an integrated construction information framework for rich-context construction project information management Based on the object-oriented technology, five properties, which are representative and common h construction information objects, were identified. These properties were modeled as an abstract class, named ICIM_Root_Object, and its relationships with other supportive classes. With the inheritance and polymorphism mechanism of the object-oriented techno1ogy, all the construction information classes inherit properties and relationships defined at ICIM_Root_Object to improve manageability, flexibility and simplicity of the integrated construction management domain mode1. In addition, the root layer model supports the consistent integration of construction information.
