Abstract |
Most older People Presently live in denser central-city environments. The city-life has better Potential than rural-life in aspect of various generations. Social transactions, access to services, mobility and so forth. In this sense, urban location is Preferred to rural location by most older People. In this study. First, the concept of urban homes for the aged is defined in this study, and then. Focused on the relationships between open space and building in homes for the aged. Open space characteristics and improvements of the homes are discussed with research of foreign cases. As a result of this study, it is revealed that rural homes for the aged is better than urban homes for the aged from the viewpoint of location, and that ㄷ-type and ㅁ-type structural Pattern in site Planning are desirable. These structural patterns are helpful for older People suffered from amnesia and difficulty in understanding of new knowledge. This study has significant meaning in that it is based on the planning of elderly congregated housing and establishes the desirable site Planning criteria for urban homes for the aged. |
