A Study on the Applicability of Statistical Energy Anlysis (SEA) to Estimate the Light-Weight Floor Impact Sound in Concrete Structures |
Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to investigate the applicability of Statistical Energy Analysis(SEA) for predicting the light-weight floor impact sound in concrete structures. Coupling loss factor, vibration acceleration level, sound Power level and floor impact sound level of subsystems(ceiling, wall, floor, receiving room) were measured and compared with predicted values by SEA. Measurements were carried out on a model room constructed of concrete structures. And as an impact source, tapping machine was used. The results show that the Predicted values, in general, were good agreement with the measured data. Particularly, the predicted and measured floor impact sound levels tend to be good agreement in the octave band over 500Hz. |
