Abstract Thermal environment of atrium is developed by the complex processes, which are composed the space geometry and transmission, state, convection, radiation, conduction of solar radiation. Thus precise prediction of the internal thermal environment of atrium remains in a very difficult problem. Recently, due to the rapidly advanced technology of Computers and CFD, the solar radiation analysis and coupling simulation of the convection, radiation, conduction can be possible in very detail and almost approximate manner Also such advanced technology of computers and CFD contribute a lot to the prediction technology for thermal environment of atrium. But, the huge calculating volume and time by the perfect coupling simulation still remains as an obstacle to overcome. The present paper outlines the temporal coupling simulation technique and its application to keep high reliability and economic calculation load when it compares to the perfect coupling simulation.
