Abstract A lot of Galvanized or red painted steel pipe supports have been used for form system or temporary support system in exposed natural weather condition in the construction industries, frequently. But the collapsion accidents have often occurred as the result of unsuitable support system or inferior quality of piped. It is thought that the main reason of this failure is mainly due to insufficient strength under unsatisfactory condition of piece supports such as decayed inner pipe, bent or, decayed pin. But there is almost no manufactured year denote on the surface of the galvanized inner pipe, bent or red-painted pipe support even though it is mandatory to produce pipe support with year denote on it by the regulation, enforced by the Ministry of Labour in 1992. This study is to clarify this strength change due to used lear, by using the samples taken from the site which one of the big rental office involred for four years 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 Specially, SPS series of Pipe supports such as sps-50, sps40 and sps-30 show different characteristic, depending on the material strength and buckling length.
