Abstract |
As the use of CFT colimns in tall building construction has been increased due to the large amount of material and labour saving, the prediction procedure of CW column shortening causing serviceability problems and additional stresses in horizontal structural members are needed. Although there are very few available monitoring/experimental data about the shortening of CFT columns, the trend of Cn columns shortening is so definite that the inelastic shortening(creep and shrinkage) of concrete in CFT columns is smaller than the one of RC columns due to the confinement effect of outer steel columns. The effect is taken into consideration in this proposed analysis, of which within the framework column shortenings of a 102-story tall building investigated. |
