Abstract |
In the design of frame supported wall, there are many analytical models for the analysis of frame supportted wall. One of these is the assumption that all load simply work on the frame with disregarding the effect of wall. But this assumption is far from the fact that the'arching'action in the wall tending to redistribute the loads to the ends of the beams. So most designers use the finite element model in the analysis of frame supportted wall structure. In this model, the plane stress element is frequenltly used for modeling the transfer girder. The analysis result using plane stress element is presented in the form of stress. This is not compatible with the general design method based on the member forces. Because of aforementioned reason, designers use the beam element for the transfer girder, but the result of this element is different from that of using the plane stress element. Therefore the variation of axial stress and flexural stress according to the relative stiffness between wall and supporting girder is studied in this paper for the design reference. And the possibility of application to practical work of elastic theory and various analytical model is studied. |
