Abstract This research is to investigate the correlations between concrete properties, mortar finish, environmental condition and carbonation rate in the long-term aged RC buildings. For this purpose, concrete core-specimens were cut out from the building which have been used for about 20years and their compressive strength, specific gravity, absorption ratio, ultrasonic velocity and carbonation depth been tested. The test results added by the several domestic raw data were compared with the 4 types of carbonation coefficient equations as a function of compressive strength. As a result of this research, it is considered that correlation between the compressive strength, mortar finish thickness and carbonation coefficient of the indoor concrete is very efficient. Also, through the estimation of those factors, it will be possible to predict the indoor carbonation coefficient of the long-term acted buildings. Finally, the equation for prediction is suggested
