Abstract |
This paper reports the flexural behavior of long span preflex composite beams. The study is based on the calculated and experimental results obtained from two 13.8m span models tested under the vertical load monotonically to the failure. The objective of this study is to compare the behavior of prefabricated preflex composite beam with that of conventional preflex composite beam under the monotonic load and to investigate the structural performance of prefabricated preflex composite beams.Experimental results indicate that prefabricated and conventional preflex composite beams behave identically up to not only the design load but also the yield strength level. Therefore, it is proved that the prefabrication method proposed in this study is applicable to the long span preflex composite beam as a new construction method. |
