| Abstract |
Implementation of e-business is crucial to improve the competitiveness of the construction industry. The success of e-business depends on the e-business information system (EBIS) which is built in a web-based internet environment. In the construction process, the EBIS should be designed to assist the life cycle of project management in a business organization. Functional requirement analysis is important to help attain the business goals. This study evaluates the EBIS from two view points: 1) business requirements of an organization, and 2) the applicability in the construction process. By quantifying the relationship, the business needs of the e-business systems in the EBIS have been identified. The business needs, in turn, suggests the priority of the investment on the EBIS. The study results suggests that e-business systems should be implemented such as to maximize the strength of a business organization. |
