Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to develop an imaging technique for the assessment of concrete structures by visualizing inside of concrete structures using radar. A brief introduction is made about the fundamentals of range and cross-range resolutions, which are basic to radar imaging. Using experimental data obtained from radar measurements on concrete specimen with a delamination at the frequency bandwidth of 3.4∼5.8 GHz, the followings are implemented into computer programs: data processing using inverse Fourier transform, windowing, and imaging of time domain data. Imaging results are then analyzed to verify the accuracy of the measurements. Through this study, a particular frequency range appropriate for measuring the thickness of concrete specimens using radar has been determined. |
