Abstract The study aims to find out the application of diversity in the spatial configuration of art museums built since 1990's. It deals with 16 examples of overseas art museums as analytical objects, using space syntax as an analytical tool.
Today, it is important to recognize art museums as a medium of communication. Because they reflect diversity of cultures and diversity of users and visitors to whom art museums link their cultural resources. Consequently, the tendency of spatial configuration in art museums built since 1990's is that order of integration value of functional space is 'hall space < service < exhibition < education,' and CONN-RRA and CONT-RRA are low. That is to say, recent art museums develop into a medium of communication for diversity of society and multi-culturalism then, spatial correspondences in art museums lately applicate these characteristics.
