| Abstract |
This paper aims to study the transition process of the traditional housing plan and its meaning in order to reveal how the housing plan has been transformed under the modern urban environment.
From the analysis of typical modern urban housing plans, some meaning has been found as follow: First, the 「Standard Urban Housing」 was formed by conjoining the orders of space composition and modern elements of the traditional housing plan as the structures in the front and rear rows. Second, the 「Popular Housing Plan」that was appeared since the 1960's, was developed as a complex structure by linear juxtaposition of unit blocks at both sides of a living space along with applying the previously-developed housing plan method. Thus, the Korean urban housing plan has been newly developed as the structure of the traditional order and modern desires. |
