Abstract City planning and urban design have been implemented in so different ways that the city manager required the project design environment analysis and architects office used to furnish the housing site design without analyzing. The essential purpose of this study is to assess environmental performance of specific site and to give effective solution about problem founded. So two major aspects of environment are surveyed. Firstly natural environment aspects of urban planning / management program(ie. Disaster protection of flood, fire and safety of the target site). Secondly living environment of insolation, wind and energy for the dwellers.
To achieve these goals of analysis an urban renewal site have been selected. Thus this part is the first part of the on-going interdisciplinary research and later these methods will be applied to an alternative design by renewal steering committee.
The problems in our living environment would arise from the modernization drive in the industrialization, architecture, urbanization and mostly mass-housing by the name of new town and urban renewal, which developing countries are mostly facing from the start.
Therefore this report aims at the followings to minimize the impact in order to pursue the ESSD in city planning.
a.Living quality standard and adequate dwellings have to be reviewed by the environmental performance study for insolation, wind and energy-saving aspects of the target site plan.
b.Urban living environment should be evaluated by natural aspects to the manager of the city and the district for the protection aspects of flood, geo-changes and eco-system etc.
Therefore flood plane infiltration, overflow, geo-change of cutting, and filling balance should be analysed. Together with Green space changes and systems upgrades with wetland of water-borne elements biotope should be renovated from the existing 4th grade level to the second grade level of ESSD preservation.
