Abstract |
The TEC Beam which can reduce the story height of a building is a composite beam composed of structural tee, precast concrete, and cast-in-site reinforced concrete slab. The previous test of this new type of proposed system was performed for simple beams and it showed a good structural behavior. The connection between TEC Beam and RC Column is designed as a moment connection as it is commonly used in Korea, which has to be proved for the field application. For a mechanism to transfer the force that occurred in the lower part of TEC Beam to the RC column, the TEC Beam is connected at both sides of column with a plate through the column. In this paper, two specimens are experimentally investigated to make sure the structural behavior of the proposed connection system. The parameter is a spacing of shear stud on the web. It could be concluded that the proposed connection system shows a good structural behavior and is applicable to the filed. |
