| Abstract |
This paper aims to develop urban residential model to accommodate properly the multi-family housing for Korean urban context. Up until now, existing land subdivision method has been employed to develop the residential area which is regarded as a suitable residential fabric for single family housing. However, as the density is getting higher, it causes many urban problems like emergency vehicle service, car parking and pedestrian safety. So, we are facing the needs of developing the new residential system to alleviate the above-mentioned problems by introducing new size of lot and block. This research, as a result, suggests the cul-de-sac type urban system with larger lot and block to accomodate the multi-family housing type, might be the urban residential model for Korean urban context. |
