Abstract The purpose of this study is to analyze the temperature properties of structural streel beams and columns(SS 400) by the unloaded fire test of KS F 2257 and ISO 834, and to evaluate the loadbearing capacity by the loaded fire test of the same codes.
For analyzing the fire resistance properties of steel beam, two types of specimens were tested by the loaded fire test, which specimens were prepared by covering ceramic wool and concrete. The ceramic covered beam has a straight shape and the concrete covered beam has a T-shape.
The results of this study are follows. The average temperature of beams and columns is over 540℃ when they were collapsed by the allowable deflection and contraction, which result meets the allowable temperature of ISO 834. And the T-shape beam shows fairly good properties of structural safety because the covered concrete decreased thermal stress.
