Abstract In the previous study, we found the some domestic crushed sand were alkali-reactive aggregate. So the preventive measures should be established to counteract expansion due to alkali-aggregate reaction in concrete. We examine the effect of comparatively low alkali cement of Na2Oeq is 0.72% and the blending effect with non-reative aggregate and the addition of pozzolanic materials, such as blast furnace slag cement and fly ash. As a results, use of low alkali cement is effective and the addition of fly ash is effective when the addition rate is over 20% , but blast furnce slag cement is effective only when the additon rate is over 80% and dilution effect with non-reactive aggreagte has no effects on prevention of expansion.
