Abstract |
After 1995 Kobe earthquake which caused collapse of existing buildings, the importance of seismic resistant reinforcement increased with public attention. And low shear reinforcement was proved to be the cause of those collapses. To improve shear capacity of RC structures and SRC structures, various researches have been conducted and new retrofit methods have been developed. Nowadays retrofit methods using carbon fiber sheet(CFS) are popular because of its properties such as anti-corrosiveness, light weight, and workability. This study is focused on evaluating retrofit performance using CFS. Five columns were constructed with varying the reinforcing quantity of CFS for retrofit performance experiment. Throughout cyclic test, the strength, stiffness, load-deflection relationship, failure modes, ductility, and energy absorption capacity were investigated. The test results show that the increasement of CFS's quantity improve the ductility and energy absorption capacity and change shear failure mode into flexural failure mode. |
