Abstract |
This paper describes an experimental investigation into the panel splice behavior of reinforced concrete beams by the external bonding of the new retrofitting material, which is composite panel with carbon fiber sheet bonded on light concrete precast panel. The experimental program included thirty beams with 200300mm in cross section and 2540mm in length. The major variables that effect on the flexural strengthening with externally strengthened by composite panel of R.C beams depend on panel splice length(100, 150mm in 1 layer, 150, 200mm in 2 layers, 200, 250mm in 3 layers) and panel splice position( center of beams and at the supports). The structural behaviors of strengthened beams are compared with in terms of yield load and ultimate load, deflection and failure behaviors. |
