This paper describes both a wind tunnel study carried out in the Kumoh National University of Technology boundary layer wind tunnel and an analytical study to investigate the effects of variable side-ratios and locations of porosity on internal pressures in enclosed building. Internal pressures for the 18 type different model, which the side-ratios was 1/1.0, 1/1.5, 1/2.0 and the area of porosities was 0.1% of the wall area and the location of porosity was variable with respect to wall direction, were estimated by both the experimental and analytical method. The tendencies of analytically evaluated internal pressure coefficients shows agreement with experimental results determined by boundary layer wind tunnel tests. However, the values of internal pressure coefficients estimated by analytical and experimental method are relatively different. Comparison of internal pressure coefficient with those suggested in the Korean Standards indicate the need to consider further the influence of side-ratios and locations of porosity for better estimation of internal pressures in enclosed buildings. |
