Abstract |
In Korea, many studies have been performed on utilizing solar power, especially on the fixed flat plate active solar system. Here, the success and failure of a solar system depend on the collector setting method. As is well known, collectors are the most efficient when they are perpendicular to the sunray.
However, with the daily and seasonal motions of the sun, that is not always possible in fixed flat plate solar collectors. The most common method is to orient solar collectors toward the true south, where variations up to 15 degrees east or west are acceptable and the tilt angle of the collectors is calculated from latitude and different heating applications. However, this setting method does not consider the average insolation characteristics of the region exactly. Good analysis requires that the most accurate average weather data be used so that long-term analysis can be accurately performed.
In this study, the setting method is presented for obtaining the optimum angle of flat plate solar collectors that uses domestic average weather data, so that the fixed flat plate solar collectors must be set as quantitatively as possible. |
