Title |
A Study on the Evaluation of Sound Insulation Performance for Windows through Psycho-acoustic Experiment |

Abstract |
The objective of this study is to review the existing evaluation methods and to suggest basic data for a more appropriate and creative evaluation method of sound insulation performance through psycho-acoustic experiments. As a result of the psycho-acoustic experiment of the window type, the arithmetic mean shows the highest correlation. The strongest evaluation method for walls is STC, but for windows, the arithmetic mean have the highest correlation coefficient. The reason is that because the STC was established from the sound insulation characteristics of a wall, it is appropriate to evaluate that of wall, but a window has different sound insulation characteristics than a wall. |
