Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to develop the hybrid method for apartment with shear wall structure, that to improve a merits of the exiting precast concrete members and in-situ concrete members. To develop hybrid method, which are mixed system PC walls and in-situ walls in combination with half slab or in-situ slab, the specimens are schemed to insure an bearing capacity and failure mode of joints. This paper presents an experimental investigation on the bearing capacity of horizontal joints in the developed hybrid wall joint system. Based on the experimental results, it is proved that the developed hybrid methods have enough capacity to resist ultimate loading without joint failure in the case of interior joint. But there is a need for the modification of detail to avoid joint failure in the case of exterior joint. The bearing capacity of horizontal joints in the developed hybrid method can be predicted by the walls designed as compression members and the walls empirical design method in the code of ultimate strength design. |
