Abstract The current activities and interests for the environment conservation would include the mitigation of the environment affect as well as to inherit the limited resources to the future generation which has right to carry on the current level. Among the resources, water is indispensible for human being. Recently, the water insufficiency has been notably shown up. This is ascribed to the atmospheric phenomena as well as indiscrete water consumption. The water insufficiency has been proceeded forwardly and required with various institution and implementation to check the water amount. The mitigation of water consumption should be taken efforts continuously and systematically. In other words, it would make the goal of future water consumption level compared with current state according to the building characteristics and set much better target level. The level of water consumption would be measured with indicators. Indicators could be used in the forecast of water consumption amount as well as the tool to provide the target of consumption level. In this paper, it aimed at providing the indicator to measure and analyze the water consumption level. For this, it divided into two parts; general water supply amount and the heated water amount. And it analyzed the monthly water consumption per area and household according to the water amount and water consumption cost. It surveyed nation-wide which divided into 4 areas and sampled 1,493 housing sites. In indicator part, the model would be made similar to the logistic curve and ranged from 0 to 100. The results are as follows; First, average water consumption amount per area and household are 2,910ℓ/㎡?yr and 396,379.94ℓ/㎡?household respectively. And average water consumption cost per area and household are 980.56won/㎡?yr and 100,862.61 won/㎡?household respectively. Second, the average heated water amount per area and household are 599.21ℓ/㎡?yr and 60,850.75ℓ/㎡?household respectively. And average heated water consumption cost per area and household are 1,115.59won/㎡?yr and 114,413.99 won/㎡?household respectively. Third, the model for water consumption indicator could be made of amount and cost. The indicator of water supply is generally under indicator 50 and it indicated that the consumption level is too much low and requires much more improvements. The indicators for heated water consumption is over 50 and it showed that the current consumption of heated water is not bad.
